The train station
The train station

Valencia’s train station, known as Estació del Nord, was built between 1906 and 1917. It is located in the very centre of old Valencia on Xativa Street, next to the bull ring and is a fine example of Modernist architecture. The main hall has been restored to its former glory as designed by the architect Demetrio Ribes and the platforms are covered by an impressive metallic marquee. Although the train station itself is old, it is modern and efficient, with trains connecting the city to the rest of Spain. With the arrival of the new high speed train (TAV), trains will be diverted to Valencia-Parc Central station and Estació del Nord may be transformed into a museum.
