One of Valencia's city trams

A tram network was put into place in in 1994 which means that the vehicles are relatively new and modern. Trams are an efficient and cheap way to get around the city and Valencia’s trams are air-conditioned and equipped with TV stop indicators and a PA system as well as doors that open at the same level as the platforms, making access easy and safe for everyone. There are currently 20 trams circulating in the city of
Valencia and plans are underway for a new line called “el tramvia de la costa”, or the "costal tram" in English; this route along the seafront will really open the city up to the sea.
