L'Oceanografic is a famous sea life centre and one of the city's top tourist attractions. It was inaugurated in 2002 and forms part of the complex known as Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias. With sea water pumped from Malvarrosa beach, the Oceanografic is home to literally hundreds of species, representing different marine habitats. Fish, dolphins, penguins, crabs and all sorts of creatures are displayed in tanks with a tunnel pathway cutting through them so that you really have the feeling of being underwater and seeing the sea life from all angles. Trained divers take the braver visitors inside the tanks for a closer look at the sea creatures. The acrobatic dolphin show is not to be missed and the underwater restaurant makes for a very unique dining experience!
